If you have a problem with whiteflies mirid bugs are your best friends. The way it kills whiteflies you would think this predator came right out of a science fiction movie. It inserts its mouth into its prey and sucks out the inner contents leaving only the outer skin. I know if I was a whitefly I would not want to be in the same room as a mirid bug. They can also fly making it easy to cover large areas to find pests. Having mirid bugs will significantly decrease the amount of whiteflies in your greenhouse if not eliminate them completely.
The Orius predator attacks its prey with a needle-sharp proboscis through which pre-digestive enzymes are slowly exchanged for the bodily fluids of the prey. It is an aggressive thrips predator that may also consume some other pests, like small larvae and eggs (caterpillars, etc.), aphids, mites, whiteflies, etc. They are supplied in a bottle containing paper strips with some nonviable eggs of the moth Ephestia kuehniella as a temporary food source, on the ornamental pepper banker plants for continuous supply.
Predatory mites are the best way to get rid of spider mites. It doesn’t matter if this predator is an immature or an adult, they move rapidly on the plants and feed on all stages of spider mite. Its lifespan is about a month during which the female lays 30-60 eggs, from these eggs females are 4 times more likely to be hatched then males which means this predator can sustain itself easily. Best of all, predatory mites don’t go through diapause unlike many other predators so they will be killing annoying spider mites all year round, no matter what the season is!
Lacewings are pale green with net-like wings, they feed on nectar and insects honeydew. Their larvae on the other hand feed on thrips, whiteflies, moths, beetles eggs, small larvae, mealy bugs, psyllids, and mites! These little monsters have large hollow hooked jaws that pierce into the prey on contact and secrete digestive enzymes that melts it into its exoskeleton, sucking up the preys body juice.
