Expertise
What Madison knows best
Madison helps growers make informed decisions about beneficial insect applications, from selecting appropriate release methods to understanding where beneficials are likely to be found in the crop. With experience in cannabis and ornamental IPM, she emphasizes the importance of scouting and recognizing signs of beneficial insect activity.
She also helps growers understand what to expect after a release, including how beneficial insects behave, what they feed on, and why their activity may not always be immediately visible. Her approach combines practical technical guidance with an enthusiasm for helping growers better understand the biology behind pest control.
“Some of the most important biological control activity happens out of sight. Knowing what to look for is just as important as knowing what to release.”
Experience
From research to greenhouse IPM
Before joining GrowLiv, Madison worked as a student research assistant at Niagara College, where she also completed graduate training in Commercial Cannabis Production. Madison works with growers on the practical aspects of biological control, including insect release methods, scouting, pesticide resistance, and organic growing practices. She places particular importance on helping growers recognize signs of beneficial insect activity and understand what to expect after a release.
She also hosts GrowLiv's monthly Greenhouse Talks, contributing to the company's efforts to bring growers together to exchange knowledge, discuss challenges, and learn from one another.
