About MicromuLiv
Brown lacewing (Micromus variegatus) is a generalist predator used in greenhouse IPM programs to control soft-bodied pests such as aphids, whiteflies, and mealybugs. Unlike many lacewing species, both the larvae and adults are predatory, providing continuous pest suppression within the crop.
Adults actively hunt for prey, often feeding at night, while eggs are laid low in the canopy where pest colonies commonly develop. Micromus variegatus also performs well in cooler greenhouse conditions, making it especially useful for winter crops and ornamental production.

MicromuLiv
The brown lacewing (Micromus variegatus) is an effective predator of soft-bodied pests in greenhouse crops. Unlike most green lacewings, Micromus variegatus is predatory throughout all mobile stages of its life cycle. Adults are particularly active hunters and often carry out most of their feeding at night. Females lay eggs low within the plant canopy, allowing newly hatched larvae to immediately begin feeding on pests near the lower leaves and stems.
This predator performs well in cooler greenhouse conditions and can complete its life cycle at temperatures as low as 4°C, making it especially useful in ornamental crops and winter production.
Brown lacewings are generalist predators that feed on aphids, whiteflies, mealybugs, and other soft-bodied insects. They actively search for prey within the crop, helping suppress pest populations as part of an integrated pest management program.
