What is PersiLiv?

PersiLiv contains adult Phytoseiulus persimilis mixed with vermiculite. P.persimilis is a specialized predator of spider mites, which means it can only complete its development on a spider mite diet. This makes it very good at searching for spider mite colonies and eliminating them.

This product is only recommended when spider mites are spotted on the plants. If there are no spider mites, P.persimilis will starve.

Order deadline is Wednesday for delivery the following Monday. If spare stock is available orders received after deadline will be sent at the same time, otherwise, they will be carried forward until the next delivery date. You will be notified via email if spare stock is not available.

Good bugs delivered quickly to my door. Within a few hours of release the little guys were spread through the canopy attacking the two spotted mites. I will purchase again when needed.

I have been using persimilis mites to control spider mite infestations for 10 years with great results. With Growliv making smaller counts available, it makes it affordable for small grows and also to undertake a preventive program. I will gladly put up with a little vermiculite than lose a valuable grow. The service and promptness is exceptional. I had a computer glitch on an order and it was rectified as promptly as possible! Great company to do business with!

We're glad to hear you're happy with our support team. Thanks for the 5 star review!

Great idea…may not work the first time...

Or, the second time round...I have a spider mite problem. I ordered the PersiLiv 10K product. I released the bugs in the early morning (3 days post-ship). I mixed and rotated the bottle and did a quality check. Bugs moved. With much trepidation, I sprinkled the bugs onto the canopies of all my houseplants. There was a mess of vermiculite everywhere. That was Friday morning. I checked for the predatory mites every day, trying to be hopeful. Trust the process, my husband said. It was now Tuesday and I had only watched the spider mites web up my coral tree and my palms to an alarming degree. In my searches, I had seen but two red mites in the sea of green ones. I’m sorry to say I’m disappointed.
Trust the process, my husband said. After much procrastination, I ordered a second round of PresiLiv, only 5K this time. I chose to cull the mite burden by trimming the infected plants down and removed a considerable amount of webbing (and hopefully, mites). I released the second shipment the day it arrived (2 days post ship). The quality check was certainly livelier than the first. My daily checks revealed a greater number of red vs. green mites. I watched with glee as the red mites hunted, attacked and devoured their prey. There hasn't been a red mite for days but I have seen the odd spider mite. Alas, I think it's time for chemical warfare!
While I believe another round of Persiliv would possibly eradicate the infestation, it's spendy and I've now spent 4x more on predatory mites than I did on the plants in the first place. I guess my goal was to prevent the spread throughout the house. But still, it's an expensive venture.
NB: the photos...Before, during and after. We'll see what happens in a few weeks.

I'm sorry to hear PersiLiv did not work for you. There are many factors that can cause biocontrol to fail such as incorrect predator to prey ratio, residual effects of insecticide, temp/humidity etc. Please reach out to us next time and we would be happy to help you decide on the most effective biosolution and release rate for your issue.
